Blessings Through Raindrops

Ever going through something and then BAM a song comes on the radio. The song really speaks to exactly what you are going through. That happened to me. I was really questioning God at one point. I was wondering why God would do things this way. Its been a pretty rough year. It felt like God was almost enjoying throwing things in our path. Ever felt like that? Am I the only one who has felt like that? I'm not saying that its the right way to feel, but it was how I was feeling at the time. I was wondering how God could keep giving us hard times. My faith in God was shaken to the extreme.

I was driving home from somewhere and suddenly the song Blessings by Laura Story came on the radio. It was like God was speaking directly to me. God was showing me that His plan doesn't always make sense to us. His plan can be painful, and miserable. We pray for God to bless in so many ways, but what if His blessings came through the painful times?

Through this time, my faith has grown in leaps and bounds. I am working things out, but I know that God is using all the rough times to bless me. He loves me so much, that He has a perfect plan for me and sometimes it includes pain. The peace that comes through having faith in God and His plan is beyond comprehension. I don't have to worry about anything, because my God is in control. His plan is perfect, even when His blessings come through raindrops.

Blessings by Laura Story

We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise

  1. It's always hard to see the good when you're going through a hard time. I've been there...in fact it feels like I live there most of the time. But the reality is, God doesn't give us more than we can handle. He is refining us as we go through each trial. And sometimes when we don't even know why we are going through something, it is to benefit someone else. I'm always here for you, girl. Lots of love!!!
